The Nanaimo Daily News is delivered six days a week to homes in the Central Vancouver Island regions through independent carriers, corner stores and distribution boxes.
Covering everything from local hockey games to visits by members of the Royal Family, our editorial team combines local events with news from around the world. Over the years, many Daily News staff writers and photographers have won awards for their work in British Columbia, Canada and North American competitions.
As well as serving as a source of information about the present, the Daily News has copies of all its editions -- from 1874 to today -- available on microfilm. Students, historians, genealogists, and others use this resource on a regular basis to keep in touch with the past.
The pages of the Daily News look very different than they did more than 100 years ago. The multi-level headlines and lengthy stories have given way to the clean, tight format - and providing accurate information hasn't changed since its creation.
THE TUESDAY ISSUE OF THE NANAIMO DAILY NEWS IS DISTRIBUTED TO APPROXIMATELY 2,300 NON-SUBSCRIBERS (HOME+BOXES) IN THE LADYSMITH AREA.
THE THURSDAY ISSUE OF THE NANAIMO DAILY NEWS IS DISTRIBUTED TO APPROXIMATELY 23,000 NON-SUBSCRIBERS IN THE NANAIMO-PROPER AREA.
The Daily News also offers a TMC product in Nanaimo on Friday's called the Harbour City Star with the Parksville/Qualicum and area receiving the Oceanside Star on Thursdays.
